Our volunteers are at the heart of Blue Mountains Food Services, giving their time, care and energy to help us support people across the Blue Mountains. From delivering meals and assisting in our Community Restaurants to providing social support and helping across our programs, their contribution makes a meaningful difference every day.

 

Recently, we had the pleasure of bringing our volunteers together for a special Volunteer Recognition Event at the beautiful Avalon Restaurant in Katoomba. It was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate and say thank you to the people who give so generously to our organisation and our community.

 

We were delighted to be joined by Trish Doyle MP, Member for Blue Mountains, who helped us recognise the incredible contribution of our volunteers and generously provided a surprise gift for some of our lucky attendees.

 

One of the most special moments came from our clients themselves. Wanting to express just how much our volunteers mean to them, they created a heartfelt video sharing their thanks and appreciation. It was a beautiful reminder that volunteering at BMFS is about so much more than providing a service- it’s about connection and the small moments of kindness that can make a big difference in someone’s day.
